    Houston, Texas, October 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering continued its commitment to the community by participating in the fall Rebuilding Together – Houston event. Rebuilding Together - Houston is Houston's largest non-profit community outreach organization working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods. They do this by providing no-cost home repair and renovation services to low-income homeowners in need—the elderly, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and people impacted by natural disasters. This organization is part of a national network of almost 200 affiliates across the country revitalizing neighborhoods and lives - one home at a time.

  • Gulf Interstate Engineering Welcomes Mr. John Thomas as Chief Financial Officer

    Houston, Texas, September 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering (Gulf) welcomes Mr. John Thomas as its new Chief Financial Officer. John possesses more than 35 years of financial and senior executive management experience in the energy and health care industries. John is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Finance, and is a registered CPA. Over the course of his career, John has worked at Duke Energy Trading & Marketing and Panhandle Eastern Corporation. He is a member of the Financial Executives International – Houston Chapter and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. As a dedicated leader, John will work to formulate and implement financial strategy and policy for Gulf.

  • Gulf Ranked No. 17 in Houston Business Journal's 2013 Largest Houston-Area Private Employers List

    Houston, Texas, August 2013 - This month, the Houston Business Journal recognized Houston's largest private employers. Gulf Interstate Engineering, together with Gulf Interstate Field Services (GIFS), ranked 17th - a two spot jump from last year – with 970 employees. Gulf was also highlighted for adding nearly 200 employees over the course of last year, and for increasing revenue by almost $50 million. The Energy/Oilfield Services industry claimed 14% of the 50 companies ranked on the list. This continued recognition further solidifies Gulf as an engineering leader in Houston and worldwide in the energy industry.

    Houston, Texas, July 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering Company (Gulf), a leading provider of quality project management and engineering services for the worldwide oil and gas industry, announced that they have once again been recognized as one of the world’s top design firms according to Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) Top 225 International Design Firms listing. Formerly known as the Top 200 International Design Firms, the list has been expanded in recognition of the growing number of design firms flourishing in the international market. The Top 225 International Design Firms list ranks firms based on design revenue from projects outside of their home countries. This year, Gulf ranked #159 – a 7 spot jump from last year’s #166 ranking. International design revenue was up 16.8% in the U.S.

  • Gulf Interstate Field Services Welcomes Mr. Andrew Neuberger - Operations Manager

    Houston, Texas, June 2013 – Mr. Andrew Neuberger has joined Gulf Interstate Field Services (GIFS) as Operations Manager. In this role, Andy will develop and cultivate client relationships, monitor employee performance and job responsibilities, provide safety leadership, and manage Operator Qualification (OQ) compliance requirements. With his knowledge of pipeline and facility construction, safety and industry compliance requirements, Andy will aid GIFS in continuing to provide clients with quality construction management and inspection personnel. Mr. Neuberger has more than 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, holding various senior level operations and marketing positions.

  • Gulf Interstate Engineering Company awarded DCP Midstream’s Ozona Meter Station Project

    Houston, Texas, June 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering Company was recently selected to provide project management, engineering and detailed design services on DCP Midstream’s Ozona Meter Station Project. This project involves the installation of a new meter station in Crocket County, Texas. This meter station will deliver NGLs to the Sand Hills Pipeline.

    Houston, Texas, June 2013 – Gulf Interstate Field Services (GIFS) was recently awarded Kinder Morgan’s prestigious Contractor Safety Award. Selected among more than 5,000 contracting companies, GIFS was selected for performing at an exemplary level and for always keeping safety at the forefront of operations. GIFS is being recognized as the only multi-award winner in 2013, receiving the overall Corporate Safety Award, as well as an individual business unit award in the Natural Gas division.

    Houston, Texas, May 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering Company, in association with Arendal, has been selected by GDF Suez to provide project management, engineering, design, procurement support, construction support and commissioning services for the Energía Mayakan Pipeline Expansion Project.

  • Gulf Interstate Engineering awarded Major EPCM Contract for Wright Interconnect Project

    Houston, Texas, May 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering Company is providing engineering, procurement and construction management services on Iroquois Gas Transmission System, L.P.’s Wright Interconnect Project. The project scope involves the addition of a compression facility that includes the associated inlet gas filtering, exit cooling, gas mixing, odorization, metering, flow control, and modification of existing station piping to allow limited back-up between the new and existing facility. These station modifications will expand the facilities at the Wright Compressor Station to move an additional 650 Mdth/day of natural gas from the proposed Constitution Gas Pipeline to the Iroquois/Tennessee Gas Pipeline system. The current anticipated in-service date is March 2015.

    Houston, Texas, April 2013 - Several Houston energy engineering companies continue to ride the shale gas revolution. In March, Houston Business Journal released their top 2013 Energy Engineering list based on gross billings of the previous year. Gulf Interstate Engineering (Gulf) maintained the prestigious No. 8 spot out of 25. While maintaining the same ranking as last year, Gulf's gross billings increased by $50 million.

  • Gulf Interstate Engineering Company awarded Enterprise Products’ West Mag Compressor Station Project

    Houston, Texas, March 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering Company was recently awarded a project by Enterprise Products Operating L.P. to provide project management, engineering, drafting and procurement services for the West Mag Compressor Station Project. Enterprise Products plans to install this grassroots 70 MMSCFD, unmanned new compressor station in Duval County, Texas. The project will include the following major equipment items: one (1) 900 HP Solar Saturn 20 MKIII compressor set; one (1) filter separator, one (1) gas after-cooler, one (1) waste water tank, lube oil system, and all the auxiliary equipment; compressed air and fuel gas systems; new piping with actuated on-off valves and control valves; and erect a compressor building to house the compressor package.

  • Gulf Interstate Engineering Company awarded Station 195 Unit 1 & 2 Driver/Compressor Wheel Replacement Project

    Houston, Texas, February 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering Company has been awarded the engineering, design, drafting and material procurement services for Williams’ Station 195 Unit 1 & 2 Driver/Compressor Wheel Replacement Project in York County, PA. Modifications to this station will increase throughput to the Northeast Connector Project. Station modifications include removing existing Nordberg reciprocating engines and installing new high-speed 16,000 HP Siemens VFD electric motors
