Houston, Texas, October 2013 – Gulf Interstate Engineering continued its commitment to the community by participating in the fall Rebuilding Together – Houston event. Rebuilding Together - Houston is Houston's largest non-profit community outreach organization working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods. They do this by providing no-cost home repair and renovation services to low-income homeowners in need—the elderly, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and people impacted by natural disasters. This organization is part of a national network of almost 200 affiliates across the country revitalizing neighborhoods and lives - one home at a time.
On October 19th and 26th, many Gulf employees helped repair a homeowner’s aging home. The repairs involved replacing siding, trim, shutters, porch roof supports and exterior house light fixtures. They also rebuilt soffits, reframed windows, re-painted and cleaned the yard. Thank you to all volunteers for helping make a difference in this homeowner’s life.
