|Gulf played a key role in the program management team for Saudi Arabian Oil Company's southern area. The ongoing Southern Area Pipeline Projects program is a multi-task, multi-year endeavor designed to meet increasing area requirements. Gulf's initial assignment was to provide engineering, procurement assistance and construction management for an expansion of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) capabilities.
The expansion projects supply treated seawater required to meet the 1990-2000 Saudi Aramco crude oil demand. The new system meets a designed maximum seawater flow rate of 6 MMBPD. The total capacity was designed to ultimately meet seawater requirements for the Uthmaniyah, Hawiyah and Haradh fields.
Gulf's initial efforts for its client, Saudi Aramco Oil Company, increased the EOR system's injection water capacity through the addition for water supply lines, high pressure injection lines, fuel gas pipelines and the expansion and construction of associated support facilities.
